DEARBORN – Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a woman and attempting steal a bike.
Police arrested Hosam Al-Hussain on September 14 after a Dearborn resident in the area of Hubbard St and Greenfield Rd observed him trying to steal a bicycle from her backyard.
When confronted, Al- Hussain pushed the elderly resident to the ground and fled on foot. The resident immediately called 9-1-1 and officers flooded the neighborhood until he was located riding a pink bicycle. Officers witnessed Al-Hussain gain entry into a garage near Greenfield Rd and Paul St. and officers subsequently arrested him.
He was charged with Felony Burglary, Larceny and Assault & Battery by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Al-Hussain was arraigned in the 19th District Court before Judge William Hultgren. He was issued $900 Bond. Al-Hussain was given a Probable Cause Conference date of September 23 at 9:00 AM and a Preliminary Exam date of September 30 at 9:00 AM.
“Thanks to the brave actions of this Dearborn resident and the speedy response by officers, this dangerous subject was located and taken off the streets. This is a prime example of our community assisting the police department making the City of Dearborn a safer place,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated.
