Philadelphia – A Muslim man has suffered from severe burn injuries after a driver threw a firebomb into his vehicle and fled the scene, in what is being reported as a hate crime.

A man in northern Philadelphia is wanted for throwing a firebomb into the occupied car. The assailant allegedly screamed “there you go, Muslim!” as he threw it into the vehicle.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and is being treated for severe burns.

Police are still searching for a suspect.

Posting the clip on social media under the username @FeministaJones, a witness said: “Heard a huge explosion. Didn’t know what it was. Then heard a man yelling saying his skin was burning.

The incident reportedly happened around 5am and the witness added the victims skin was burning. 

The alleged victim was well-known and liked in the community and the witness said it was wild that something like that would happen in the area.
