STERLING HEIGHTS – A 30-year-old Sterling Heights man has been arrested after allegedly making threats against Macomb County judges.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Mohammed Subhi Alsheleh sent an email that included a threat to “sever the heads” of two judges.
The threats were reportedly made against Circuit Court Judge James Biernat Sr. and Judge Kathryn George.
A threatening email was sent Sept. 26 to a Royal Oak attorney’s office.
The threats were sent using a mobile device and were sent from a fake email address, police said.
Police said Alsheleh was identified as a suspect based on his child custody proceedings in front of both judges. Alsheleh was taken into custody Wednesday on an outstanding warrant from Chesterfield Township.
Alsheleh is charged with false report or threat of terrorism and using a computer to commit a crime. Both charges are 20-year felonies.
He is currently in the Macomb County Jail.
