DEARBORN – On Thursday Feb. 2, the Arab American Women’s Business Council will teach community professionals the art of networking and give them the opportunity to catapult their businesses or careers at their annual Speed Networking Event.
“This is the 3rd Annual AAWBC Speed Networking Event and we normally get between 30-50 people attending our event,” board member Mervat Jaafar said. “The event is a fun, exciting and effective way to make a lot of initial connections in a very different environment from the standard business networking meetings.”
She said for those unfamiliar with speed networking, it basically involves people meeting each other one at a time swiftly and then moving on to the next person.
“Therefore, it is important to be well prepared and make sure to bring a stack of business cards,” she added. “You won’t want to miss the chance to expand your network. You never know who you’ll meet that can catapult your business or career.”
The event takes place at John Cowly and Sons from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
