DEARBORN —Dearborn police are revisiting the 2006 shooting of Aniseh Eljahmi in the hopes of making an arrest.
On April 13, 2006 Eljahmi was found dead in front of her home in the 3400 block of Houston, near Outer Drive and Pelham.
Eljahmi’s 6-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting, but was unharmed.
“It appeared she was gunned down by the assailant shortly after exiting her vehicle,” Dearborn police said Friday in a statement.
The case has remained open, and police said new methods and “changes in circumstances which may assist in this case” stimulated investigators to revisit it.
“Utilizing these new methods, investigators are re-examining the case facts and evidence with the anticipation that it may eventually lead to an arrest,” police said.
In the press release, Chief Ron Haddad called Eljahmi’s homicide one of the “most pressing cold cases.”
“We are again asking for the public’s help in identifying any suspects and sharing any information they may have about this incident,” Haddad said. “The Dearborn Police Department remains committed to finding and prosecuting the person or persons responsible for this senseless crime.”
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Dearborn Police Department at 313-9432241 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP. There’s also a choice to remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers is offering $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
