DEARBORN — Molina Healthcare, a 24-hour Midwest Medical Center, plans to shut down on Sept. 30. All 120 workers at the center will be laid off.
The clinic is located at 4700 Schaefer and offers urgent care, primary care, physical therapy and other service. The clinic is ran by Molina Medical Management.
“We regret the impact this will have on affected employees and we will be providing outplacement assistance and severance to ease the transition,” said Molina spokeswoman Leigh Woodward. “We are working with network providers to ensure that our patients continue to receive the care they need and deserve through our trusted partners.”
Another representative of Molina would not specify the reason for the closure. Molina Healthcare specializes in lower-income and Medicaid patients.
The company is based out of Long Beach, California and according to a report from Reuters in July, the company, “plans to cut about 1,400 jobs in the next few months.”
Molina Medical Management fired its chief executive officer, Dr. J Mario Molina, and Chief Financial Officer John Molina. The brothers are sons of the company’s founder, Dr. C. Molina.
