DEARBORN, MI.— On Saturday, February 24, 2018, at approximately 8:30 am in Adrian, MI., Dearborn Police Officers with the assistance of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police-Emergency Support Team arrested a 38 year-old Westland resident who has been identified as a suspect in the shooting of a Dearborn man.
Dearborn Police earlier released a statement describing details of the deadly shooting.
“On February 23, 2018, at approximately 8:00 pm Dearborn Police Officers responded to the area of Whittington and Canterbury on report of a man down. Upon their arrival they discovered a 37-year-old Dearborn resident in the street who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. Rescue personnel immediately responded and provided care. The victim died as a result of the injuries.” The police statement said.
The Arab American News have learned that the victim is an Arab American.
Based upon preliminary interviews it appears that the parties involved are acquaintances. This is still an active investigation. We will submit our investigation to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what charges, if any; will be brought against the suspect involved in this incident. The police said in a statement released later this morning.
