DETROIT – On Thursday, May 3, 2018, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Detroit Police Department, Wayne State University Police Department, and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Michigan State Police, Detroit Fire Department, United States Attorney’s Office and local emergency medical services will be working together to conduct a routine training exercise on the WSU campus.
Public is encouraged to avoid the following areas during the hours between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. Warren Avenue between Cass Avenue and Anthony Wayne Drive and Second Avenue between W. Hancock to W. Warren. The road closures will begin at 7:00 am until approximately 3:00 pm. Parking restrictions will be in effect on this date in the area of the road closures and vehicles parked within the road closures will be impounded. The hours posted on the No Parking signs will be enforced.
During the exercise, you can expect to see a large presence of law enforcement, fire personnel and EMS, including tactical response vehicles. During the exercise, you may hear simulated gunshots and explosions.
