DEARBORN — Drivers should be aware that Cherry Hill is closed to through traffic from Telegraph to Outer Drive due to a large-scale construction project.
Drivers are advised to use Michigan Avenue, the official detour, when traveling east and west. The city is conducting pavement replacement, sewer construction and water main replacement. The closure will last through October, with only local traffic is allowed.
A federally-funded sewer separation/concrete replacement project is underway in the area. Homes with driveways on Cherry Hill will be able to access their driveways during most of the construction. The intersection of Cherry Hill and Melborn will be open for traffic to cross Cherry Hill.
The project is being administered by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and managed by Rowe Consultants.
A detailed letter was sent by the city to residents and business located along Cherry Hill.
