DEARBORN — On Saturday, July 21, Amine Zriek held a grand opening for his shop, Shadow Supplements, which he said is all about promoting health within the community.

The company, located at 15010 W Warren Ave, Suite 211 in East Dearborn, began as a family-owned online business, providing users with nutritional material and gym apparel.

The mission of Shadow Supplements is to motivate and support people through their fitness journey by offering the best sports nutrition products education and motivational content. The slogan is “each one, teach one”, ensuring that people are in the right place and are receiving proper assistance for their needs.

“We are mainly promoting health and accommodation with our customers within the community,” Zriek said. “We do not push products to them.”

Zriek, 23, said his passion began during his high school years.

“Since I was in high school, I’ve been saying that I’m going to do it (start a supplement business) and that I will make it happen,” he told AANews. “At 21, I started my online supplement business, and then two years later I decided to go into retail.”

Zriek said Shadow Supplements is a method to maximize the power of vitamins and supplements to help people lead healthier lives. He affirmed that the employees are well informed on all of the products in the shop and will provide guidance in making the right selections for each customer’s lifestyle and health concerns.

He said the store not only offers powders and supplements, but also meal preps and a smoothie bar.

He later added that Shadow Supplements caters to many different age groups, especially to teenagers 16 or older. For example, depending on one’s age and health condition, some supplements may have caffeine while others will not. Some supplements may aid in burning fat, while others will assist in building muscle.
