DEARBORN — Longtime New York City educator, administrator and diversity expert Debbie Almontaser is expected to speak at the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Monday, November 18.
Almontaser is the author of of “Leading While Muslim”, which will be the title of her discussion.
The founding principal of the Khalil Gibran International Academy in Brooklyn, Almontaser is also the board president of the Muslim Community Network.
She frequently lectures or leads workshops on Arab culture, Islam, conflict resolution and Interfaith coalition building. The speech is hosted by several of the university’s colleges or programs, including the Center for Arab American studies.
Her book is focused on the experiences of U.S. Muslim principals in a post-9/11 environment.
