DEARBORN — Earlier this week, a 14-year-old Edsel Ford High School student was reportedly missing, with Dearborn Police asking the community for help locating her.
Fortunately, police reported that Bettul Al-Aufi had been located and was home safely the next day. The Dearborn Police Department thanked the public for their assistance in the teen’s safe return.
Police said last Monday that on Friday, Oct. 22, Al-Aufi walked out of Edsel Ford High School before lunch. She failed to return home and had not been seen by family or friends since.
Al-Aufi was ordered to wear a tether by Dearborn’s 19th District Court for her own safety, following her return. The Arab American News learned that Wayne County Sheriff officers placed the court-ordered tether on Thursday.
