DEARBORN HEIGHTS – The local nonprofit organization Youdemonia is making a mark in Southeast Michigan with a bit of holiday cheer. The group, founded in 2020, aims to combat social disparities by creating community events and increasing opportunity awareness for youth.
This past month, Youdemonia held Michigan’s first-ever “Battle of the Schools”, a friendly competition where students donated toys at their schools to be given to families in need through the Toys For Tots program. In partnership with Mayor Bill Bazzi of Dearborn Heights and local centers, the initiative raised nearly 800 toys and engaged students from Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Northville and Livonia.
“Seeing students from different communities come together on this project was nothing short of amazing. My hat goes off to all those who donated and supported us along the way, can’t wait to see what we can do next year!”
– Nathan George, founder and CEO of Youdemonia
