DEARBORN — Due to increasing concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC) will close to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18 until further notice.

​Residents will still be able to attend public meetings in-person at the DAC, but are encouraged to be proactive with health guidelines and practice social distancing by using the video conferencing tool, Zoom, to virtually attend. Residents or businesses that have city-related business will be able to contact the necessary department by phone or email.

​Public Service Days have also been suspended until further notice. No tickets will be issued at this time. Please note that regular trash and recycling schedules will continue on their normal schedule.

​Currently, some meetings are still scheduled as normal. Those that typically attract a public audience are listed below. If you’d like to attend remotely, a link to a Zoom conference session will be available and shared with the public 24 hours in advance. The following meetings are still scheduled as normal:

Residents can call the City Clerk’s office at 943-2010 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to make an appointment for urgent need of city clerk services. Customers can only pay for services via check or money order. As a courtesy, no late fees will be charged for anyone who may be late renewing a license during the shutdown.

Residents can make tax or water bill payments by utilizing the 24-hour drop box located in front of the DAC. Bills and checks must be placed in a sealed envelope and placed in the drop box no later than 5 p.m. on the due date. Additionally, residents can still send these bills by mail through USPS.

In addition, the Dearborn Fire Stations will be closed to the public for non-emergencies without an appointment. Residents who need to visit a Fire Station must call 313-943-2277 to set up an appointment. The Fire Stations are always open for emergencies.

The Department of Public Works still plans to be open from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 for bulk waste drop-off.

As of Tuesday, March 17, residential inspections are still ongoing, and building permits are still currently being issued.
