From Younes Bazzi:
Schools are set to reopen for in person learning as early as March for Dearborn Public schools, but this is quite concerning. As of right now teachers are getting the new COVID-19 vaccine, However there is no vaccine officially authorized for people under the age of 16. The soonest we can expect a possible vaccine for children is September, but yet they still want to reopen schools in March.
It is an unnecessary risk for our young generation that can leave hundreds, if not thousands, sick and infected. When the University of Michigan Dearborn reopened shortly, but then immediately closed again after a large number of students got infected and this could happen again with all of Dearborn public schools. Even right now the university is facing backlash over its decision and is constantly changing its course of action, all because it opened too soon.
