DEARBORN — MMA fighter Abe Alsaghir has recently completed fight number nine of his entire MMA career, leaving him undefeated. This is his third fight of his professional career standing at 3-0, holding a continued undefeated streak of 9-0 overall throughout his professional and amateur career.
Alsaghir successfully completed the Lights Out Championship, held at the Hype Wayne Athletic Center.
He told The Arab American News that he completed a knockdown of his opponent within the first seven seconds in the fight and successfully won with a “ground and pound” at two minutes in the first round.
With a clear goal of expanding his MMA career, Alsaghir said he is now working to be featured on Dana White’s Contender series.
“I have my eyes set to be the first Lebanese to get on the Contender series season 8,” he said. “I’m only 22 years old; it hasn’t been two years since I made my MMA debut.”
Alsaghir’s brother, Fawzi, 23, is now planning his own MMA debut. Abe shared that Fawzi’s interest sparked after being in his brother’s corner throughout the entirety of his fights. He then commenced on his own training journey. He is training alongside his brother at the Detroit Jiu Jitsu Academy.
Abe said that it feels great to train alongside his brother and push him to the limit. He also credited the Detroit Jiu Jitsu Academy and its coaches, Anthony Fawaz, Ali Hamka, Tony Collino, and Danny Agemy, for the atmosphere of training they receive.

Fawzi is set to make his amateur MMA debut October 28 in Lansing.
“I’m ready to go out there and show all the training I’ve been putting in, keep that last name moving up in the ranks in MMA,” he said. “It’s a lot of pressure, but I will get it done, Inshallah.”
