Remember the days before the push to recycle? Everything went to the dump. Well, when Canadian Samer Kamal went to visit his mother in Sarjah, one of the United Arab Emirates, he felt he was back in time to those days. He was struck by the amount of waste just going to. . . well, waste. Kamal heads up Tactical Connections along with his partner Brad Kerr. It is a firm that helps Canadian companies make connections in the Arab world. As well, the Kamal family is close to Sarjah’s rulers, and he was able to get them on board a clean-up effort. They established Bee’ah, as an environmental organization for the emirate. Tactical Connections lined up Canadian firms to assist Bee’ah. Architects Bregman and Hamann are designing buildings for Bee’ah. Envyrozone is supplying recycling bins. Shred-Tech and Recycling Technologies are furnishing the wherewithal to recycle tires. Allianz Madvac is selling street sweepers and Titan Trailers will deliver waste transportation vehicles.
Sarjah is going to be much more environmentally friendly, all because Samer Kamal saw the need and used his influence and connections to make things happen.
