DEARBORN – Once again the staff at Edsel Ford rallied the school in a show of support for 11th grade students during the all-important MME testing days that took place during the week of March 10. The entire staff at Edsel Ford wore matching blue shirts with the slogan: “Get into Gear to Make a Great Year.”
“A few years back we noticed that students weren’t taking the MEAP test as seriously as they should. The shirts are just one of many ways of showing the kids that the whole school supports them and draws attention to the importance of doing well on the test,” commented Barbara McAuliff, math teacher at Edsel Ford.
Besides the shirts, which were worn by teachers, administrators, para-pros, food service staff, custodians, and security guards, there were also motivational signs placed around the school. Ninth graders filled two bulletin boards with individualized messages of support. Several staff members were key to the success of the week’s activities but they were quick to point out that the success of the school can really be credited to the entire dedicated and tight-knit staff at Edsel Ford.
