Detroit �  The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan has awarded a grant of $150,000 over two years to the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC), a non profit organization, for support for refugee acculturation outreach services. ACC’s Community and Family Strengthening and Integration Project will target the Metro Detroit Arab and Chaldean population.

The project will target refugee community involvement and development by holding bilingual orientation workshop series; building the home-school partnership; conducting prevention, education and health awareness activities; conducting English as a Second Language (ESL) and Vocational ESL classes; conducting employability training.

The purpose of the Community and Family Strengthening and Integration Project is to help new refugees learn the necessary skills for American survival.

The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) is the premier non-profit human service organization providing services to the Middle Eastern and mainstream communities in Southeast Michigan.
