DEARBORN — The City of Dearborn, along with its marketing campaign, WelcomeHomeDearborn.com, will promote great features of the community to potential home buyers through activities at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center (The Center) on Sunday, April 27.
Dearborn’s activities are in conjunction with The Big Open House, a four-county real estate event, from noon-5 p.m. on April 27.
The Big Open House includes participation by the Dearborn Area Board of Realtors (DABOR), which plans to have 150-200 houses for sale in Dearborn open for tours that day.
Potential home buyers —and current residents—are encouraged to stop at The Center during The Big Open House for a Community Expo, and to pick up maps of Dearborn and of the houses for sale.
The City recommends that home buyers begin their day at The Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue, between Greenfield and the Southfield Freeway.
At the Community Expo, Dearborn will present information on its excellent services and programs; recreational offerings, including Camp Dearborn; its libraries, and its historical museum.
Also participating in the Community Expo are local service clubs, and the Dearborn Community Arts Council.
The Dearborn Animal Shelter will display pets for adoption that day.
The Dearborn Police Department plans to demonstrate its high tech bomb-disabling robot and its popular K-9 (canine) unit and offer information on crime prevention. The Fire Department will present important safety tips.
WelcomeHomeDearborn.com will be promoting Dearborn via demonstrations of the website of the same name and other activities inside Studio A.
In addition, the Dearborn Public Schools will also be taking part in the Community Expo.
Also on hand will be Furnace Hot Glass and the Glass Academy, artistic, educational and business endeavors based in Dearborn.
Other activities for the Community Expo are in the planning stages.
The Center will offer tours on April 27 so residents and potential home buyers can see the extensive exercise area, two pools, double gym, the art gallery, club and party rooms, the Senior Citizen Center and more.
Potential home buyers can qualify on April 27 for a free pass to use the The Center’s pools and athletic areas on another day by visiting a Dearborn house for sale on April 27.
