DEARBORN — The Dearborn Stars are now 2-1 on the season as they split a pair over games over the past week in the Michigan Premier Soccer League’s Open Division. The Stars won 1-0 over the United Soccer Club on May 9, getting the game-winning goal from Hasan Saad late in the game off a deflection. May 11 was a different story as the Stars played their first home game of the season in the driving wind and pouring rain. They lost 7-3 to Oakland Yard as the conditions took their toll. Despite the loss, captain Mouine Salame is happy with where the team’s at going into their fourth game.
“Even though we let one game slip by, we’re still doing pretty well,” said Salame. “We’ve just got to win the next game and stay ahead of the competition.”
The Stars play on Sunday, May 18 against the Rangers at the soccer field near the Ford Performing Arts Center in Dearborn and would welcome new fans with open arms.
