After walking onto the show as one of its biggest underdogs, Iranian kickboxer Amir Sadollah has shocked the world and advanced to The Ultimate Fighter Finale against C.B. Dollaway, which will be aired on cable’s Spike TV station at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Sadollah will receive a six-figure professional contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship if he wins the title. He was one of the few middleweight contenders in the 16-person house of fighters that didn’t have a professional bout to his name coming in, but he won all four of his fights, moving on to the final by defeating Dollaway with an arm-bar. Sadollah and Dollaway will have a rematch for the title after finalist Jesse Taylor was kicked off the show for kicking in the window of a limo while celebrating his semi-finals victory.
The fight will take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and will mark the first rematch for the title in the show’s history. Sadollah, who left his job as a surgical technician to become a full-time fighter, talked about his journey to the finale in a conference call.
“I never put any pressure on myself to make the finals. As I look back at it, it’s a huge achievement. At the time I couldn’t bother myself thinking winning about four fights, I was just thinking about the next one.”
