“Dearborn Aglow” holiday home decoration judging takes place December 13-15
A holiday tradition returns to Dearborn when judging takes place for the 44th annual “Dearborn Aglow” holiday home decoration awards. Judging will take place nightly from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, Sunday, Dec. 14, and Monday, Dec. 15.
Members of the City Beautiful Commission will travel throughout the city’s neighborhoods during the unique three-day event, searching for the most impressive home holiday light and decoration displays. Homeowners are urged to turn their light displays on during the Dec. 13-15 judging period.
Want to alert the City Beautiful Commission of a home that you think they should specifically check out for Dearborn Aglow? Make nominations by phone until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, by calling 313.943.2415.
Each City Beautiful Commission member will choose finalists from his or her assigned sector of the city. Finalists will be honored during a special ceremony at Dearborn City Hall in 2009.
Helping those in need…
LATHRUP VILLAGE — The Arab and Chaldean Council will be collecting new or gently-used coats, clothes, toys, and donations for the less fortunate in metro-Detroit during its annual drive throughout the holiday season.
Each year, ACC distributes coats and basic needs items through its community outreach offices. There is a great need for the community’s support and ACC welcomes even the smallest donations to help those in this time of great need. The generosity and support of the community make a real difference in the lives of the families ACC serves each year, especially with winter weather here, continuing into December and beyond.
Donations can be made payable to: ACC, Attn: Holiday Donations, 28551 Southfield Road, Lathrup Village, MI 48076. For additional information please contact the ACC at (248) 559-1990.
