DEARBORN — Police have identified two alleged co-conspirators in an investigation of a traffic ticket-fixing scheme that previously resulted in the arrest of a police officer and an Arab American resident.

Police believe Hasan Charara has fled and is in hiding,

Police announced on April 3 the arrest of Isoam Mahmoud Nimer, and an ongoing search for suspect Hasan Charara, both charged with two felonies, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice, and one misdemeanor, bribery of a public officer non-performance of duty.
The felonies carry a potential sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

“We will work tirelessly to maintain the public trust and earn the respect of the community,” said Police Chief Ronald Haddad in a release.
Officer Alex Brian Ramirez, who was suspended without pay after being charged for his alleged part in the scheme, and Hassan Hojaije, a civilian who allegedly contacted recipients of traffic tickets on behalf of Ramirez to solicit bribes, were released on bond after their arrests last month.

Nimer has also been released on bond.
