DETROIT – A 17-year-old Flint teen of Lebanese descent has been linked to the disappearance of a Chesterfield Township man, and a series of other crimes in Macomb County, according to reports Thursday by The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.
Ihab Maslamani |
Police say they have evidence linking Masalmani to the August 9 disappearance of 21-year-old Matthew Landry, whose body was identified Friday after being found in a burnt-out Detroit house.
Authorities identified the body through dental records. They have not revealed an exact cause of death, though police have said he suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.
Assistant Macomb County Prosecutor Robert Merrelli said Maslamani had been missing since escaping from a halfway house in Detroit in July.
He is being held in Macomb County Jail on $2-million bond.
Maslamani spent much of his teen years bouncing around foster homes and has been connected to the gang 7 Mile Bloods in northeast Detroit, according to police and court records, the Free Press reported.
A psychological profile indicates that he suffers from epilepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
