DEARBORN — The Arab American Political Action Committee (AAPAC) is holding its endorsement interviews on Saturday, Sep. 25, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 1, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Interviews are being held for U.S. Rep.,11th District; State Rep, 15th District; Macomb County Commissioner; Dearborn Public Schools Trustee; 3rd Circuit Court; 36th District Court; MSU Trustee; Michigan Supreme Court; WSU Board of Governors; and Secretary of State, Michigan. The interviews help determine which candidates AAPAC endorses in the Nov. 2 statewide election. AAPAC president Mariam Bazzi encourages members of the community to take part by participating in the endorsement vote process. “The community is invited to the endorsement interviews, that is what we have always done. Everyone is welcome to come, they know AAPAC has an endorsement process. They know they are welcome and we have never denied anyone,” Bazzi said. Candidate interviews are discussed and debated during the endorsement vote process. Those who will not be present can send questions they want answered by candidates to Mariam Bazzi at msbazzi1@gmail.com. AAPAC has not yet announced official times for each candidate’s specific interviews because they are still being scheduled.
