Dearborn – The Sadr Foundation is widely known for turning the despair of young orphans into hope by giving them bright futures through higher education. In addition tens of thousands more visit the organization’s health and social centers annually. Those interested in helping the Foundation continue its humanitarian efforts in the United States and Lebanon can purchase tickets for its annual fundraising dinner on March 26 next Saturday at the Islamic Center of America, 19500 Ford Road in Dearborn, at 6 p.m.

All proceeds go towards achieving its mission of helping the needy locally and abroad. Guest speakers include Sayedah Rabab Sadr Charafeddine and Sayed Raed Charafeddine, the vice governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon. The annual event brings in about 1000 guests.
The organization has provided funding for worthy causes including the Wayne County Youth Fund, Children’s Hospital in Detroit, Focus Hope, Relief for Hurricane Katrina and the new construction of medical and educational buildings in Lebanon.
The organization was founded with the goal of building on the example of Imam Musa ElSadr, who was kidnapped in Libya, and his pioneering advocacy for women, orphans and the underserved in Lebanon.
The Sadr Foundation exists to continue his legacy. It’s a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, TAX ID NUMBER: 38-3459402 that can accept contributions from your personal, corporate or foundation account. Contributions are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. It’s also qualified to accept Kums and Zakat (tithe).
