On March 19, the Regional National Taekwondo Qualifier took
place in Ohio with a trip to the national championship round on the line.
Top performer Hameed Dakroub with the support of Master Ali
Koubeissi was among those competing against top talent from across the eastern
U.S.
Dakroub competes in the 18-32 Year old Male Black Belt
Featherweight (under 149.9 lbs.) class. After drawing a random bye, Dakroub
turned in a masterful performance, winning the championship match and a gold
medal in dominating fashion by a score of 10-4.
The victory was a tremendous accomplishment for Dakroub and
the Koubeissi Taekwondo School, putting Dakroub in the winner’s bracket with an
opportunity to compete in the World Class National Championships this July in
San Jose, California.
Koubeissi students also excelled yet again at the Michigan
State Martial Art’s Commissioner’s Championships on March 26. They captured 32
gold medals and two bronze medals at the state qualifiers out of 34
competitors. Kobeissi is affiliated with the United States Olympic Committee
(USOC), the sole representative of the USA to the International Olympic
Committee. The school is open for everyone and is located at 14442 Michigan
Avenue, Dearborn.
