DETROIT — Roger Stockham, the 63-year-old man who was
arrested outside of the Islamic Center of America for plotting to detonate
highly-explosive fireworks earlier this year, has been ordered to undergo a
mental competency test by Wayne County Judge Bruce Morrow. Stockham, who has a
mental history with bi-polar and posttraumatic stress disorders, had several
prior convictions and has spent previous years in both prison and psychiatric
hospitals prior to his arrest on Jan 24 outside of the Dearborn mosque. He has
been charged with threat of terrorism and possessing explosives with unlawful
intent and faces at least three years in prison if convicted of both
charges.
