PONTIAC — The Michigan Sporting adult soccer club has enjoyed an exceptional year so far in the highest division of the Michigan Premier Soccer League, and the team scored its biggest victory of the year on July 24 at the State Cup Final.
Michigan Sporting, which is sponsored by Papaya Fruit Market in Dearborn, took home the state title with a 5-3 win over the Canton Celtic Club at Ultimate Soccer.
The team had previously defeated the first-place Bloomfield Force by a score of 2-0 in order to qualify for the championship game. Currently, Michigan Sporting has a record of 5-2-2 in the Premier division of the MIPSL.
