DEARBORN — The new Arab American Civil Rights League will officially launch with a reception at The Fairlane Club on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. The ACRL is a new organization that will seek to combat negative stereotyping, highlight the contributions of Arab Americans to the U.S., work with federal, state and local authorities to promote more positive policies, education and governance, combat defamatory material on the Internet and other forms of media, and more.
The organization will be run by attorney Nabih Ayad of Ayad & Associates, along with new executive director Rashid Baydoun. The ACRL will have the support of the Ayad law team, which has taken on high profile cases including the Amer family of Dearborn’s landmark lawsuit against a state-backed foster home.
