HIGHLAND PARK — A judge has ordered former Miss USA Rima Fakih of Dearborn to stand trial on a misdemeanor drunken driving charge after a pre-trial hearing on Wednesday.
The hearing was held in the city’s 30th District court, and a bench trial was set for March 14 by Judge Brigette Officer.
Fakih was arrested on Dec. 3 after she was allegedly seen driving at high speeds in the 6 Mile and Woodward area in a black 2011 Jaguar XJR. Police also said she was changing lanes while weaving in and out of traffic. Inside the car, they reportedly found an open bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne. She then registered an initial .19 reading on the breathalyzer test, well over the legal limit of .08, and now faces a total of 93 days in jail in addition to fines if convicted.
Fakih has continued to pursue an acting career following her Miss USA stint and recently made an appearance in the hit movie ‘Real Steel.’
