Most American basketball fans are familiar with Wilt Chamberlain’s record-setting 100 point game in the NBA in 1962, and now, Lebanese league player Mohammed El Akkari has joined him in the exclusive 100-point-game club after he scored 113 points on Tuesday.

El Akkari a 27-year-old guard for Moutahed of Tripoli who only averaged 7.6 points per game going in, made made 40-of-69 shots, including a staggering 32-of-59 3-pointers, according to fibaasia.net. Unlike Chamberlain, he did not score much from the free throw line, as he only hit one of them.

His team won the Lebanese Division. A League Final Eight game against Bejjeh 173-141.

“Thank God for this performance. I think it’s all a result of my practice,” Akkari said, according to fibaasia.net. “I also want to thank my coach for letting me play that long and all my teammates for helping.” According to the website, 100 points have been scored in a game in Asia only twice, in 1923 in the Far Eastern Games and in a high school game in the Philippines.

El Akkari’s performance marks the first time a player has scored more tan 100 points in an official game played in any FIBA Asia National Federations league.

“He’s a phenomenal but very underrated shooter,” Moutahed coach Ahmad Fadel said of Akkari. “He puts in a lot of hard work in practice. I am not surprised.”
