DETROIT — A seventh conviction was reached in a case involving the sale of counterfeit goods across metro Detroit this past Friday.

Hassan Aoun, 43 of Dearborn, was found guilty of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods, along with three counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods as well, after a two-week trial.

Prosecutors showed evidence that goods from New York were sold at stores including Fresh Gear, Kings and Queens, Off Da Hook and more.

Fake Nike, Gucci, and Timberland shoes along with designer purses and clothing were also sold. Some stores had been sued by Coach for selling fake purses.

Aoun’s organization forfeited a 2006 Bentley Continental and over $60,000 in cash according to local reports. Aoun will be sentenced on Aug. 14. Four relatives and two others; five of them Dearborn residents, have also been convicted; the first term was for two years.
