Hussein Wazne, the neighbor, discovered that Jaber’s door was wide open. He entered the property and found Jaber laying dead on the floor in his bedroom. Police were immediately called to the scene and after a thorough investigation, have now labeled the incident as a homocide.
Dearborn Police however have not released details on how Jaber was killed or if there were any weapons involved in the murder. They are however determined to get a lead on the case, with Police Chief Ron Haddad asking Dearborn residents for help if they know any information.
“The Dearborn Police will leave no stone unturned in this matter, and I’m requesting anyone with any information in this incident to please contact the Dearborn Police Department,” Chief Haddad stated in a press release.
Dearborn Police have also talked to neighbors and compiled information about the activity that occured in the residence on the days leading up to the incident, including if anyone had seen company or intruders enter Jaber’s property. Chief Haddad also told The Arab American News that Jaber’s house was ransacked by whoever was responsible for the death, but no other information was provided at press time.
Memorial services for Jaber will be held on Sunday, July 22 at the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn at 4:00 p.m.
