Signature Cafe, which opened its doors on July 23rd is the previous location of Arabica Lounge. The new owners say that there is a big difference with the new restaurant’s menu compared to Arabica. Aside from everything that the old venue already offered such as subs, sandwiches and hamburgers as well as Arabic and Mediterranean entrees, the new menu at Signature is also expanding to include Mexican and Italian cuisine. The dessert options are also looking to expand.

The hookah prices at the venue also vary. They have specials running at $11.95, $12.95, $13.95 and 14.95. Customers can also enjoy the cafe’s signature hookah called the ‘signature power,’ a watermelon-flavored hookah currently running for $23.95. Also for a limited time, customers who come in during the day and order a hookah, can return later in the day and order the same hookah again and only be charged for a new head. The outdoor seating at the venue is also expanding to eventually include 10-12 plasma TV’s.  The restaurant will be opened from Sunday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-2 a.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 a.m. 

Potato Head Café

Located on Greenfield Rd. near Warren Ave, owners of Potato Head Cafe Houssam Aoude and Rabih Hamdan are looking to expand on their previous experience in the restaurant business. Aoude was previously a partner of another restaurant, I-Burger, and hopes that customers who enjoyed that restaurant’s menu will also appreciate the one at Potato Head. He says rates are a little cheaper and food items include Burgers, Sandwiches, Wraps, Salads and Pizza. A juice bar is also included inside of the restaurant, where customers can grab drinks such as cocktails and smoothies. Their dessert menu also include items such Cheesecake and Ice Cream.

Those looking to smoke some hookah will also appreciate the special rates of $8.95 for a variety of flavors. Seating at the restaurant is also available outdoors on nice days. The lounge is opened every day from 11 a.m.-2. a.m. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the hours are extended until 4 a.m. The location, which opened up in mid-August, has so far received a great reception from customers according to the owners. A website and Facebook group is also in the works for the cafe. 

Xushi Ko

Offering a wide variety of over 35 rolls, Xushi Ko, a sushi and hibachi grill steak house is all prepared with halal meat.  The restaurant opened its doors in June and is located right next to Best Buy off of Ford Rd. and Mercury Drive. The owner of the venue is also the owner of Vanilla Lounge, located in the same plaza as well as five other restaurants prior. The owner says the most popular items on the menu so far have been their steak sushi, fried sushi and vegetarian sushi for those who don’t eat fish. Aside from sushi, the restaurant also offers salads, appetizers and desserts including fried ice cream, cheesecake and fried banana with ice cream. 

A unique twist to the restaurant’s food, which is prepared by a staff of  Asian chefs ranging from countries like Japan, Korea and Vietnam, who together have over 30 years of experience in Asian cuisine, is that the restuarant also mixes in dishes of other cultures. With some Middle Eastern and Mexican fusion thrown in the mix, customers can also enjoy tabuilli rolls or raw tuna rolls with salsa. The restaurant opens daily from at 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on the weekdays, and close at 11 p.m. on the weekends.
