DEARBORN — Two city residents have already filed petitions to run in the upcoming city council race. The elections for the city council, mayoral and city clerk are nearly one year away. The city’s current clerk Kathy Buda has also reportedly filed a petition to run for re-election. To date no one has filed a petition to run for mayor. Residents Colette Richards and Michael Albano filed petitions to run as members of the Dearborn City Council. Richards is a 15-year resident of Dearborn and a media secretary with Dearborn Public Schools and the former president of the Dearborn PTA, and the founder of the city’s special education PTA. Albano is a wireless consultant, and has lived in the city for 38-years. He serves on the city’s Rental Task Force, and the Telecommunications Commission and is also active with the city’s Save Our Pools group. All seven city council seats are up for reelection in 2013.
