LANSING — Vice President Joe Biden will serve as the keynote speaker for the Michigan Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner that will take place on April 20, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Cobo Hall, party officials announced Monday.
“As we continue to fight against policies that hurt the middle class in Michigan, Vice President Biden is the perfect person to really help fire up the troops for that battle,” said MDP Chair Lon Johnson. “Whether it’s working to make sure that we all have access to health care or that the rights of women, workers and seniors are protected, Vice President Biden has always been a champion for the causes of everyday men and women in Michigan.”
The annual event is similar to ones held by Democratic parties around the country. Past speakers at the MDP’s annual dinner include Robert Gibbs, former advisor to President Barack Obama, and Minnesota Senator Al Franken. For more information or to RSVP call 517.371.5410.
