DEARBORN HEIGHTS — City councilwoman Janet Badalow met with members of the Dearborn Heights Community Organization at Cedar Garden here recently to discuss her candidacy for mayor.

Nearly 25 people attended the meeting where discussions on the city’s future took place, and Badlow, who’s Council Chairwoman Pro-Tem spoke about her some of her initiatives. Because of her candidacy for mayor, she won’t be allowed to run for City Council during the upcoming Nov. 5 election.
The DHCO was established in 2012, and the active engagement of its members have helped prompt change. It is open to all Dearborn Heights residents, or anyone who’s concerned about improving the quality of life for residents in the city. Since launching the group has made its presence felt among many of the city’s elected officials. “This city means a lot to us. We mean business,” said Hassan Bazzi, DHCO president. He says the community has a great deal of potential to improve the city, and he wants the youth to get more involved in its future by joining the DHCO.
