Among the pills the suspects stole included 3,000 Xanax pills, 1,500 Norco pills, and 3,500 Vicodin pills. The men were wearing gloves and had their faces covered, making it hard to identify them. The Dearborn Police Department does say they have some early leads on the case.
The pharmacy had also been a victim of a failed attempt break-in the week before, on the morning of March 19. Surveillance footage shows that two suspects who had covered their faces attempted to break into the pharmacy by punching a hole through the glass door. However, after a couple of minutes, the suspects were unsuccessful in their attempts due to a double deadbolt lock being in the way. The suspects ended up fleeing the scene.
The Arab American owners of the pharmacy told FOX 2 News that they plan to upgrade security at the facility, as well as store certain prescription drugs inside of a lock when they are closed in order to prevent repeat occurrences.
