DEARBORN — A 53-year-old Brown City resident woke up at the Victory Inn on Michigan Avenue on August 12 missing his clothes, $900 in cash, credit cards, cell phone and keys to his vehicle, which were allegedly stolen by a woman that he met the night before at the Motor City Casino.
Dearborn Police are looking for a female suspect, who calls herself “Hershawna,” who allegedly robbed the man of his belongings while he was asleep. “Hershawna” is described as a black female, approximately 38 to 42 years old. She is roughly 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue denim dress and tennis shoes.
The man told Dearborn Police that he had spent the day at Motor City Casino and met the woman, while he was playing at the Blackjack tables. The two proceeded to play table games through the afternoon together.
After several drinks, “Hershawna” convinced the man to leave the casino and rent a room at that specific motel in Dearborn. The pair made their way to the motel, but left his car in the parking structure at the casino.
The man tells police that the couple had a few drinks in the motel room, before having dinner at Miller’s Bar on Michigan Ave., located at the far west side of town. The couple then returned to the motel, where the man said he fell asleep.
After waking up and realizing that all his belongings were missing, including his clothes, the man asked to borrow pants from a guest who was staying in another room. The man then went to the front lobby and contacted the police.
Officers searched his room and checked the surveillance footage to confirm his claims. The man was then advised to contact casino security about the theft, as his car was still parked in the casino garage.
