DEARBORN — Susan Dabaja, the new city council president elect was interviewed by Time Magazine following her big victory in Tuesday’s general election. Although this was her first time running for office, Dabaja managed to garner the highest number of votes, coming in first place.
The articl,e published by Time magazine and titled, Dearborn’s Arab-Americans Break Two Barriers, notes that Dabaja, an Arab American attorney who is Muslim, ousted Thomas Patrick Tafelski, a Polish Catholic incumbent and the current city council president. In the article, Dabaja thanks her core campaign team of five Arab American women, including campaign manager Mallak Beydoun.
