DEARBORN — On Tuesday, a 43-year-old man was shot at the Benihana restaurant in Dearborn on Hubbard Drive. The incident occurred in the evening while the restaurant was packed with families. Many people ran to the bathroom to escape the chaos.
The man was reportedly shot after an argument inside the restaurant. No other injuries were reported and police say the suspect and the victim were dining together before the incident took place. Pushing and shoving between the two men occurred before the victim was shot in the stomach. Police are still looking for the suspect who walked out of the restaurant following the shooting.
A Preliminary investigation indicates that this is not a random act and that the parties involved may have been acquainted in the past. The suspect is described as a b/m, mid 20’s, approximately 6’2”, medium build, wearing light colored pants and a dark jacket.
The victim, an Ann Arbor resident, is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
