DEARBORN — Growing up, Dearborn native and Fordson High School graduate Robert Saleh dreamed about being part of the NFL.
Today, Saleh is a quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks, who beat the Denver Broncos in the 2014 Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 2. Saleh’s uncle, Robert Saleh, who played football at Michigan State University from 1969-1972, says his nephew played a major role in helping create some of the defense schemes used by the Seahawks in the game.
Speaking to The Arab American News in a previous interview, Saleh’s father Sam Saleh, who is also a former football player, said what he is most proud of are his son’s ethics and that he does his job with honesty and integrity.
Saleh’s position in the NFL serves as an example of how far kids in the community who are aspiring to be part of the NFL can take their dreams. “When you love and have a passion for something you’ll succeed… It is who you are. You have to be honest and really care about people,” Saleh’s father added.
