DEARBORN—On Sunday, June 8 the Yemeni American Benevolent Association’s (YABA) weekend Arabic school held a graduation ceremony for the 2013-2014 school year.
The ceremony began with a reading from the Qur’an, which was recited by Alhassan Bin Ali Abdulmajed, a YABA student.
Several members of YABA and educators from the school also spoke at the event. Hussein Berry, president of the Dearborn Board of Education, attended and gave remarks as well.
Addressing the crowd many of the speakers and students talked about the importance of education. Parents were encouraged to continue activities such as reading and writing during summer break. Students were presented with gifts and certificates for completing the program.
