DEARBORN — NBC News’ Kevin Tibbles visited the city recently and interviewed local Muslims for a piece entitled “Meeting America: All American Muslims in Dearborn.” The segment aired July 6. 

Tibbles interviewed families who are fasting for the Islamic month of Ramadan. Muslims who were featured said they identified with and celebrated both their American and Arab cultures. 

The segment also featured young Arabs playing baseball in an effort to show that Arab community members are typical Americans.

Imam Hassan Al Qazwini of the Islamic Center of America discussed the growing concerns he has for both his homeland, Iraq, and America, which he identified as his second country. He said if the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) gains control of Iraq, it could also attempt to attack the United States.  g
