DEARBORN — On July 10, Ford Motor Co. announced a new scholarship program it will be PROVUDING students pursuing degrees in the automotive engineering field. The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship is in tribute of the company’s previous CEO.
“Alan’s engineering background and data-driven decision making paved the way for the extraordinary leadership he provided at Ford,” Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said in a news release. “We are honoring his legacy by providing scholarships to students who demonstrate the strong engineering ability that is required to develop into the next generation of leaders for our industry.”
This scholarship program will award 10 one-time $10,000 scholarships each year to deserving sophomore or junior engineering university students around the world. The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship program will begin in the spring of 2015 and run for 10 years.
Scholarship winners will be associated with Ford Motor Co.’s corporate science, technology, engineering and math initiative. The company will work with partner universities to choose scholarship recipients.
