DEARBORN — Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston announced the appointment of Shannon Peterson to executive director for secondary education, per board approval on Aug. 25. 

Peterson is currently principal at Bryant Middle School, formerly assistant principal at Bryant, and a teacher at Lowrey Middle School and Divine Child High School.

Whiston said the district was very fortunate to have had many outstanding candidates for the position.

The Dearborn Board of Education also approved Maymon Mustafa as assistant principal at Fordson High School; Mike Esseily as assistant principal at Lowrey Middle School; Rima Hassan as assistant principal at McCollough Elementary School; and Donna Jakubik as interim principal at Haigh Elementary School. 

The Dearborn Board of Education will hold two meetings this September.  The first will take place Monday, Sept. 8, beginning 7 p.m. at the district’s administrative building located on 18700 Audette Street. The second will be on Monday, Sept. 15 at Henry Ford College, starting 7 p.m.
