DEARBORN — On Thursday, Sept. 18, Gov. Rick Snyder met with members of the Arab American Political Action Committee (AAPAC) at The Arab American News’ office for an endorsement interview.
AAPAC members asked Snyder questions concerning Detroit’s bankruptcy, education and the future of Wayne County, among other issues. Interviews are granted to candidates who seek AAPAC’s endorsement.

Before the interview, Nada and Batul Shatila, the daughters of Riad Shatila, the founder of Shatila Bakery in Dearborn, who passed away last year, presented Snyder with sweets from the company.
Bobby Schustak, the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, was present during the interview.
The Michigan Republican Party recently opened an outreach office at 12821 Warren Ave., in Dearborn.
