CLINTON TWP. — A free citizenship workshop will be held Saturday, February 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Robert A. VerKuilen Building located at 21885 Dunham Road, Clinton Township, MI 48036.
Several organizations will participate in the free regional citizenship workshop, including the New Americans Campaign, Welcoming Michigan, Chaldean Community Foundation, Michigan Immigrants Rights Center, Michigan United, International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit and the South Asian American Voices For Impact.
The workshop will assist eligible Legal Permanent Residents with the Naturalization Application (Form N-400).
Languages that will be spoken include Spanish, Arabic, Chaldean, French and English.
To attend you must present:
-Your permanent resident card.
-Two passport photos of yourself.
-Your driver’s license or state ID card.
-Your social security number.
-If you’re married to a U.S. citizen, his/her birth certificate of naturalization.
-All marriage certificates and records.
-Your children’s birth certificates if they are also permanent residents.
– List of residences for the past five years.
-List of employers/schools for the past five years.
-List of all trips outside the U.S. for the past five years (including to Canada and Mexico).
-Check or money order for $680, payable to the Department of Homeland Security, OR you may qualify for a fee waiver.
